We have partnered with an award winning long established M&E team in the heart of Manchester. They are going through a period of growth due to a merger with a large Multi-disciplinary consultancy and some impressive project wins. Our client's skills and expertise are now recognised by many as leading the field for low carbon sustainable design. They have been recognised by CIBSE recently by winning a number of awards. We are searching for an Associate Mechanical Engineer with a proven track record of supporting and delivering designs for a range of project types and sizes.
You will be client facing, technically well rounded and able to offer the benefit of your experience to more junior Mechanical Engineers within the team. Responsible for meeting with clients, developing and producing reports, specifications and guidance or overseeing testing and commissioning activities, we work closely as a team to ensure we achieve the best results.
You will possess relevant Mechanical design qualifications and/or the equivalent industry experience-ideally a degree in Mechanical Design, and should be a Chartered Engineer or possess the desire to become Chartered by CIBSE or MIET.

The successful candidate would be a key member of the Manchester Building Services team playing a significant role in the team's success. They will report directly to the Director and assist the existing senior management with the day to day management of the strong 15 man design team and delivery of an exciting range of iconic local and international projects.
The successful candidate will be outgoing and client facing with strong technical skills. Their strategic plan is to continue to grow and become the largest M&E team in the North West.This is a fantastic opportunity for the right individual to develop their skills, with the opportunity to progress within the senior management structure.

Overview of Role:


• A demonstrable track record of successful delivery within a mechanical services engineering role/environment including:
o Coordination and spatial planning of mechanical services within the building
o Strong track record of leading project teams
o A clear understanding of, or experience within a consultancy environment
o Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
o Adaptable, resilient and able to work in multidisciplinary settings
o Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
o Professional, organised, and highly methodical
o Knowledge of relevant design tools, techniques and related methods e.g. IT systems, BIM, calculation packages, etc.
o Programming and resource management at project level
o Ability to create deliverables from a project brief
